Utah Stories magazine is seeking experienced writers to help with our upcoming issue on Salt Lake City's Main Street. A journalism background is helpful but great writing samples are what will get you the job.

We especially would like to find someone who has a knack for finding a great angle or hook in any story. If interested please provide the following:

writing samples (2 or 3 tops not overly wording-- we are looking for brevity)
job history
brief intro paragraph on why you believe you would be qualified
references

For this particular job we are seeking folks who will write the assignment and interview the subject we specify, then finish with a 600 word piece. This should take an accomplished writer 3-4 hours or a less experienced writer 5-8 hours. Starting pay is $50, if the piece requires little editing or rework we offer a $10 bonus, and more assignments. We also offer page view bonus of up to $30 per story.
