I tried this once recently, but it didn't work out so well, so I thought I'd give it another go.

I'm looking to put together or join a band of other like-minded musicians--singer, drums, bass, rhythm guit, maybe keys. I'm in my 40s, have a job, family, outside responsibilities, etc., but I can offer once a week rehearsal as well as a commitment to between-rehearsal individual work to learn material. I don't smoke, drink, do drugs, and am looking for same. My goal is to get a repertoire of 40 or so songs and play out. I'm not interested in rehearsing three times a week, but I'm not interested in meeting once a month, either. I'm not interested in playing the club scene or bars, instead would rather focus on weddings, parties, outdoor festivals during good weather, etc.

My musical tastes are hard to peg--I like what is termed "roots rock", classic rock, and blues. For concrete examples, The Jayhawks, Jackopierce's "Promise of Summer", some Sister Hazel, even some Jackson Browne and some Sugarland (!) are what have been in playing rotation lately. I love the interplay between electric and acoustic--if there's a singer or rhythm guitarist out there who focuses on acoustic, that'd be great. Female singers/players welcome. Basically, if it's guitar-based and melodic, I'm willing to give it a chance. Historically, in other bands I've played everything from CCR and Van Morrison on the one hand to Casey Chambers, Michele Branch, and The Killers "All These Things That I've Done" on the other.

What I can bring, in addition to the abovementioned work ethic and once a week commitment, is pro-level gear (PRS, Fender, Ovation, Line6), some practice space and PA, and a mic and stand (I am able to sing backup/harmony). What I hope to find are musicians with similar tastes musically, and similar goals and abilities.
