The Session 77 is a legendary all-mountain freeride machine. It’s strong enough to withstand any abuse (more than your body anyway) and can still climb your favorite cross country trails. You like to drop the big rocks and bomb full speed down Porcupine Rim? You want to climb to Mid-Mountain or the Crest? Those were regulars for me. It also was great to take to Whistler and North Shore BC, or on the epic Umpqua River trail in Oregon. You won’t beat an XC bike up any hills, but you can pedal it all day in comfort. Of course the 7” travel frame is better going down, and is very stable jumping and landing.

I’ve thought about keeping it and building up again for Deer Valley and Whistler trips, but the fact is I’m over 40 and getting more conservative in my riding.

The large 19” Session has a long wheelbase and is easily built for a wide range of rider sizes. I’m 6’4” and this frame was not cramped at all for me. I think 5’11” to 6’6” would be happy.

The frame is 10.5 pounds. You are never going to hurt it unless you are a stunt-man. My build was about 40 pounds. A buddy built one up to 35. Building it lighter than that would mean wheels or other key components would be too wimpy for the sort of riding the frame encourages.

I’ll include the Cane Creek 1.5 headset, front derailleur, original seat, post, and low-profile clamp. (The clearance on the rockers require a low profile seat clamp.) The derailleur hanger is fairly new and I’ll throw in the old straightened one. (Good to have a spare in the pack when you crunch it on Porcupine Rim.) The rear shock is being sold separately.

Here’s the full disclosure part: The frame has lots of visible wear but is mechanically sound. It has developed a little play in the main pivot which is remedied with shimming, but the bearings are so huge you really don’t need to worry about it until the bearings need to be replaced. Like most of the Sessions I’ve known (3 friends ride them) it spreads a little between the rear dropouts when the wheel is off. It just takes a little extra finesse to align everything when you put the wheel on.

I won this bike on the Versus TV Tour de France Fantasy Cycling Challenge. It is a 2009 Scott Addict customized for Team Columbia HTC and modified for George Hincapie for the Tour de France. This is an elite level pro team bike actually used (to win many tour stages in 2009) by the most powerful and demanding riders on the planet in the most grueling and competitive races in existence.The bike is in excellent condition. I do not know how much the bike was actually used but I can only see one small scratch and there is very little evidence of wear. A 1099 for $7000 will be issued to me for this bike. I would like to try to sell it to someone locally before offering it internationally. I will consider all reasonable offers. From the research I have done, Team Columbia selected the 2009 Scott Addict as their bike for the 2009 tour. If necessary, the bikes are modified for the individual riders needs. This wheelset has lived an easy life street riding on my fully rigid commuter. The biggest impact they have ever endured is rolling down a curb, and they’ve seen rain maybe 3 occasions when I forgot to check weather before work and got caught in an evening storm. They are still perfectly round and true. I selected a wheelset that was overkill, and could swap onto my trail bike if necessary (it never happened), but now I want a lighter commuter set and I have enough wheels hanging around my garage.

Original hardware is included to adapt the front wheel for either 20mm or quick release, and the rear to either quick release or bolt-on 135x12mm. (A kit available for a 150mm rear bolt-on, but I don’t have it.) I have removed the stickers from the rims for a nice clean look. Azonic logo is etched on the hubs. The anodized finish is a pewter or dark bronze metallic color; Very cool and unique. These are beefy 36 spoke, and of course ISO disc interface. These wheels are going to be much happier on a serious trail, freeride, or DH rig. They are designed and built to take abuse and remain maintenance free.

$175 is a great price for a set that has never been on the trail or off a drop. I could include a pair of 8” Hayes rotors if you want to make it $200. Cash only. I know the best deal you are going to find on a new set of these will be about $250 plus shipping, or you can pick them up at Go-ride on 33rd for $270+tax.

I have ridden this bike for only one race season (last summer) and bought it september of 2007. It only has a few scratches (near the crank and such), You barley even notice them, and all they are are a little scratched paint. Last year I blew the rear suspension and got a BRAND NEW, 2009 model. This bike is $6200-$7000 brand new.
